Then to Rome

Paris was probably my favorite trip so far, but I had a lot of fun in Rome. Rome is the capital of Italy, which is located on the Italian Peninsula. The exact location of Rome is 41˚ North, 12˚ East. Rome has a Mediterranean climate, so it was really warm the whole time I was there. Many of Italy’s main exports are food. Some of the exports are fruits, vegetables, soybeans, grain, olives, beef, dairy products, and fish. Rome interacts with it’s environment because nature is their main export. They use the earth by growing crops and raising cattle for beef and dairy products.

Rome has a very famous and interesting history that goes back two and a half thousand years. The most interesting thing about the culture to me was the architecture. I learned that many famous american buildings were inspired by roman architecture, like the dome in the Capital Building, and other political buildings. Well I was there, I saw the Colosseum, which was a giant amphitheater. Another interesting thing was all the music. I learned that Rome was an important centre for music, so I visited the Parco della Musica, a public music complex. The Parco della Musica consists of three indoor concert halls, and a fourth open air theatre.

The main thing I got out of this trip was the experience of seeing the Colosseum. I’ve learned a little about in school, but I can’t even describe how big it was. It was probably the coolest thing I’ve seen on my trip. Another thing I got out of this trip was visiting Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Vatican City was in Rome, and it was very neat. My favorite part of Vatican City was seeing St. Peter's Square. I had a blast in Rome!
